From Travis Stockton:
Truth and Tech is meant to be a place for me (and any contributors) to talk about any and everything, but primarily truth and technology. I have had a number of blogs in the past and this one hopefully will be my full-time blogging place going forward so I don’t have as much to manage (I still manage a pastoral counseling website as well; www.gospelcenteredcounseling.org).
But who am I?
I am first and foremost a Christian. If not for my faith in Christ, I’d be dead right now rather than creating this blog. But by trade and by hobby, I’m an IT guy. My official title at the company I work for is Information Systems and Security Administrator. I am fascinated with tech, am passionate about protecting people, and this role combines those passions. I really enjoy learning about it even outside of work so I figured I’d better find a place to write about it. But I am more than just an IT guy.
I am the husband to a woman who has put up with me for nearly two decades, the father of two amazing kids (one soon to be an adult), and the owner of two pretty crazy doodle dogs. I have a Master’s in Pastoral Counseling (not to be confused with Clinical and Mental Health Counseling) from Liberty University Online and a Bachelor’s degree in Bible and Counseling from Grace College and Theological Seminary.
I am one who pursues truth. While I enjoy learning about philosophy and sharing what I learn, I really use it as a means to seek truth. John 14:6 says, “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” If not for Jesus, I wouldn’t be where I am at today. And I wouldn’t have the hope that I have. This site then is a place for me to talk about the Truth, Tech, and anything else that matters to me.
