Truth and Tech is where I write about truth and technology — and increasingly, where those two words mean the same conversation. Right now that’s cybersecurity, AI, GRC, and whatever I’m learning next, always through a Christian lens. Everything else that matters to me shows up here too.

I’m first and foremost a Christian. Faith in Christ has been the foundation of everything else in my life, not a decoration on top of it.

Professionally, I spent eight years in IT and information security — most recently as an Information Systems and Security Administrator for a mid-sized company. That chapter closed this June, and I’m currently pursuing a shift into governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) work. I don’t know yet exactly where that lands. I’m confident something will.

But who am I?

I’m a husband of nearly two decades, a father to one adult and one teenager, and I’ve got two dogs who think they run the house.

I hold a Master’s in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University and a Bachelor’s in Bible and Counseling from Grace College and Theological Seminary. But the degrees are the smaller part of the story. I’ve spent years serving as a deacon and small-group leader, and for about nine years I also provided pastoral counseling — walking alongside people through grief, marriage struggles, addiction, and some of the hardest seasons of their lives. These days I lead a faith group at my church and take part in a one-on-one ministry there that teaches English through the Bible — plus, my family and I have spent years hosting international students through a friendship program here in West Lafayette. Those are more about sharing meals, sharing Scripture, and sharing life with people a long way from home than about formal counseling — but it’s all shaped how I see people.

That heart is also where www.gospelcenteredcounseling.org came from — a slower-moving project of mine, quieter lately, but not gone.

If not for Jesus, I wouldn’t be where I am today. And I wouldn’t have the hope that I have.
