There are some products that don’t necessarily fall into the “truth” or “tech” category necessarily unless you broaden the category of “tech” to embrace any technology which means just about any modern product could be listed. But, these are some of the things that I have been blessed by that I would buy again in a heart-beat.

This is the next generation of my office chair. For about what you pay for other office chairs (less than $300), you get a recliner that is a swivel/rocker w/ massage options. Not the highest quality rocker/recliner, but I’ve enjoyed having it as an office chair a lot more than I have a regular office chair. And I sit at my desk a lot. I wish mine had the cup holders!

If you look at the dimensions on this along with the chair I posted above, the dimensions aren’t perfect. But for the most part, the standing desk allows you to raise the desk enough to recline the chair above and still be able to work in a comfortable fashion with the right monitors. It’s not the highest quality but for an entry-level stand-up desk, it works and does it’s job well. I’ve added a number of accessories that have helped it hold more and makes it more functional.

I’ve had this monitor stand since 2018 and it has continued to perform despite multiple moves and desks. If you want to be able to get your monitors up off your desk, this is a great way to do it for less than $50.

I bought these in 2018 (along with the stand above), and have continued to use these without problems. For the price and the quality of these monitors, it’s not bad. There are better monitors out there (but you don’t need anything super fancy unless your a professional gamer). And these will likely surprise you in how nice they look. I know this falls into “Tech” and should be on that recommendations page, but this is where I’m listing all the other desk setup stuff, so this is going to stay here for now.

Having a nice pocket flashlight when under a desk trying to hook things up can be helpful. Especially if you’ve lost a screw and the lighting isn’t great. Having one you can rely on is even better. 500 lumen flashlights that can fit in your pocket and recharge on a USB cord is so helpful. Highly recommend this.

These are very high-quality, all-occasions cards that are worth having on hand. I am a techie that still sends out hand-written notes at times. In fact, I’ll some times write hand-written letters and use a wax seal of my family’s coat of arms. I’m that old school.
